First Responder and CPR

The AVROP First Responder course provides instruction in basic to advanced knowledge and skills to have the ability to perform pre-hospital care in the event of a medical emergency.

Be prepared to make a difference by learning these life-saving skills!!

First Responder is also an ideal introductory course for students with no prior training interested in pursuing further education or careers in emergency medical services or health care professions.

Course content includes:

  • Emergency childbirth
  • Advanced first aid
  • Basic anatomy
  • Spinal and bone fracture immobilization
  • Bleeding control
  • Applying splints
  • Recognizing unsafe scenarios
  • Hazardous material emergencies
  • Calling for more advanced medical help

Completion of the First Responder course is not a substitute for traditional emergency medical training as EMTs, emergency physicians, nurses, or paramedics. However, they have more skills than someone trained in basic first aid.

The First Responder's skills can be utilized in many situations or professions such as:

  • Park Rangers
  • Utility Workers
  • Teachers
  • Child Care Workers
  • School Bus Drivers
  • Industrial Facility Workers
  • Security Officers
  • Bodyguards
