This is a project based class in which students will combine their classroom learning with real hands-on landscape projects. Students will learn the fundamentals of landscape maintenance which would allow them to work for Public Works, Schools, and other institutions as well as landscape contractors. Do-it-yourself homeowners would also benefit from taking this course.

This course provides instruction and training for students interested in careers related to teaching and child care. Students who achieve competency in this course will develop knowledge and skills in child development, learn education industry awareness, safety and emergency procedures, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective communication skills. Students will also learn how to work with special needs children. This class provides internships for students in elementary school, parks and recreation, pre-schools, licensed day cares and social service agencies. CPR certification is part of the course. Entry-level positions include teacher assistant and instructional aide. Careers with Children - 2 quarters. Next class does not start until 8/11/09. ** Student must have book on first day of class. |
